 Project Lifesaver

project lifesaver logoProject Lifesaver is the single most important service within the City of Newport News to assist in finding a family member, loved one, or patient who is accustomed or inclined to wander. The program is designed to specifically monitor children and adults living with Alzheimer’s, Autism, Down Syndrome, or a traumatic brain injury.  Loved ones in the program wear a wrist or ankle bracelet that is equipped with a personalized transmitter. In the event a loved one wanders, Sheriff Office personnel are dispatched to find the missing loved one.

Sheriff Morgan believes the true value of the program lies in the peace of mind and sense of security it gives families; therefore Sheriff Morgan provides this life saving program free of charge for residents of Newport News.
